Creatively Redeeming Treasures Team Blog Hop August 2013

"Welcome to the Creatively Redeeming Treasures Team Blog Hop if you are coming from Elizabeth Mindemann's Blog you are in the right place! If you are just stopping by, feel free to follow the links and hop the whole way through and see everyone's artwork. This is the third month that we have been doing this Hop and it has been a lot of fun and keeps me motivated to try new ideas! We will be doing this Hop every month on the 19th so make sure to scribe to my blog so that you won't miss any of the great projects!

This month we are introducing the Babycakes Paper Packet. I wasn't real excited about the packet until I started playing around with it. I used Close To My Heart's (CTMH) Reflections® Scrapbook Program for the layout and I really love the way it came out. You can find the recipe for this layout on pages 34 and 35. Such a great book when your own creativety isn't flowing. I go to it all of the time and use the suggested Companion Layouts for multiple-page layouts.
I also experimented with CTMH's Memory Protectors® Flip Flaps™! That was fun and a great way to add more pictures to the layout. I used the badge buttons from the Babycakes Assortment pack on the Flip Flap to add further interest.
I also used the Bronze Shimmer Trim and made a bow with it and attached another one of the badge buttons as suggested in the Workshops On The Go® Babycakes Scrapbooking Kit layout. Love the way this compliments the page and adds just a little sparkle!
The "It's Aboout to get wild Around Here!" sentiment is from the Wild Wonders stamp set as it the ivy trim. This is such a fun stamp set and coordinates perfectly with the Cricut® Artbooking Collection as a matter of fact there is a great stamp that goes with the giraffe that I cut out with this cartridge! You will see that in the card that I am showing a little later in this post.
The stamps in these two images are included in the Workshops On The Go® Babycakes ScrapbookingKit. First I cut out the shapes using the same cartridge, stamped the images in Chocolate and Sunset ink. I then cut a larger shape for the Fresh From HEAVEN stamp on Sunset cardstock and mounted the image on that. I attached that with 3D foam tape. I cut a slit in the Lagoon cardstock and made a pocket for the journaling tag. I also adhered some of the square Bitty Sparkles.
I also created this card with the paper pack, badge buttons and Artbooking cartridge. As you can see, I cut the giraffe and then stamped it with the Wild Wonders stamp set as mentioned above.  In both projects I used the following Exclusive inks:  Buttercup, Sunset, Lagoon, Slate and Chocolate.

If you have any questions about how I put this together, please leave a comment. OR leave a comment just to say HELLO. I love reading your comments.

Thanks for being fantastic and stopping by. Now hop on over to my CRAFTY FRIEND, Meredith Hainsworth's blog to see what she created."

CardMaker Makeover - Lovely Lily

One of my favorite magazines is the CardMaker magazine. I have both the print and the digital subscriptions! I just love looking through my copy and getting ideas for different tricks, techniques and just all around paper crafting happiness. But I often find that while I love the cards they share, I rarely have the materials that they use. So....... why not create your own using the materials that you DO have on hand. If you are anything like me, you have TONS of products that you can use to replicate their works of art and make it your own.

That is exactly what I have done here and will continue to do in my new series Titled CardMaker Makeover - Close To My Heart Style!  I do hope you enjoy this and see how easy it is to use their ideas and make it your own. So here is my first card.
This one was taken from page 15 of the Summer 2013 issue. I created a standard A2 card (4.25" x 5.5") using the value pack from Close To My Heart. I  created a 4.25" x 5.5" panel using a piece from the Laughing Lola paper packet and then attached a 3.75" x 5" piece of B&T Duo from the same paper packet. I stamped the image and sentiment on a piece of Daisy White cardstock cut at 3" x 3.75" then mounted that on a piece of Black cardstock leaving a 1/8" border. The 3.75" circle was cut using the Artbooking Cricut cartridge on a piece of Gypsy cardstock.

Next I attached the 3.75" circle to the panel of B&T Duos with some Tombow® Adhesive, I next attached a piece of black ribbon and then, using 3-D foam tape I attached the panel with the image. Last I attached a sparkle.
Here is a video of how I put this card together.
I hope you come back and follow this series.  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

In the meantime, Happy Paper Crafting!

Creatively Redeeming Treasures Team Blog Hop July 2013

Wow, we are already over half way through the year, can you believe it!  It is so amazing how fast the time goes by.  Does it feel the same for you?

"Welcome to the Creatively Redeeming Treasures Team Blog Hop if you are coming from Helen Gullett's Blog you are in the right place! If you are just stopping by, feel free to follow the links and hop the whole way through and see everyone's artwork. We will be doing this Hop every month on the 19th so make sure to scribe to my blog so that you won't miss any of the great projects!

In celebration of the wonderful food of the season AND our July Stamp of the Month - Sweet Life, I created this card. You can get your Sweet Life stamp set, valued at $17.95 at a 72% discount (only $5) when you place an order of $50 or more in Close To My Heart products.

I also played around with our Exclusive Inks markers to create these lovely peaches! First I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black fade-resistant dye ink, as I have found it is the ONLY ink that doesn't bleed when using alcohol markers. I then used Buttercup, Blush, Cranberry, Pear, and Topiary to color the image.

I used Spellbinders Nestablilites Classic Ovals and Classic Scalloped Ovals to cut out the image after I had stamped and colored it. Popped that up on 3-D Foam Tape. I embossed the Honey Cardstock with a Sizzix Dots embossing folder, then used a corner rounder on all four corners. Then I layered this on a piece of Black Cardstock and used the corner rounder on that as well. Next I wrapped a piece of Color-Ready Seam Binding Ribbon around this panel. Tied a separate bow and attached that to the left side of the panel on top of the ribbon with a Memory Book Mini Glue Dots®.

I then attached the panel to the card base, attached the oval piece and then used the corner rounder once again! Walla, here you have it!

If you would like to purchase any of the products that I have used, please contact me or head over to my Close To My Heart website.
