Celebrate Love - Love Doily Card

I seemed to have lost my mojo this week. I headed over to a couple of Challenge blogs to see if I could be inspired. My Favorite Things had a pretty simple sketch to follow, so I combined that with Colour Me Challenges colors and came up with this Clean And Simple (CAS) card.

I always struggle with the CAS cards, as I always fee like something is missing.

Both the Doily stamp and the sentiment are from the Love Doily stamp set. I think this works!

Thanks for stopping by.

Life Is Good Wreath Card

Yes, Life IS Good! I make it a practice that before I get up each morning, to give thanks for all of the wonderful blessings in my life. I focus on the fact that Life Is Good and that is how I want it, so this card is a great reflection of how I feel and see things.
The inspiration for the card design comes from two challenges this week. Mojo Monday's #334-Tall & Skinny and Heart 2 Heart Flourishes challenge. I used the following colors on this project: Olive & New England Ivy, Colonial White, Sky, and Outdoor Denim.

I had been wanting to use both the Remarkable Wreath and the Swirls Around Flair stamp sets and this was the perfect design to use both of them. The focal element was cut with my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, which I feel really helps the wreath pop!
I stamped the swirl with Outdoor Denim pigment ink and then applied clear embossing powder to really give the color a punch and to add dimension to that panel. I also used two different embossing folders for the main panel of the card. The Quartrefoil was used on the colonial white cardstock and I used the Dots folder on the three strips of cardstock at the bottom.
I hope you like what I have put together here. And remember, focus with gratitude on all that is right in your life and you will bring more of the same into your life. Life IS Good, truly!

I hope you will take a brief moment to leave me a comment and let me know what you like best about this project. In the meantime, Happy Paper Crafting!

Mini Pocket Albums Made From One 12x12 Piece of Paper

Aren't these adorable! I love making these simple yet adorable Mini Pocket Albums for quick gifts for friends and family as well as Workshop projects! I am joining in on the Color My Heart: Color Dare #82 and FCCB Challenge #199 All About You this week with my Mini So Blessed Pocket Album above. Focus colors are Goldrush and Topiary and I used both the Arbooking and the Artiste Cricut Cartridges on these projects to cut out the elements for the covers as well as the tags that are inserted in the pockets.

This Mini Pocket Album is held closed by a simple piece of Baker's Twine that is secured under a 1-1/2" strip of paper attached as the binding with Scor Tape.
There are 8 pocket pages with tags for journaling or mounting photos. It is so simple to create these albums using a single piece of 12x12 cardstock or B&T paper. For this one I used a 12x12 piece of B&T paper from the Jubilee and Pro Player paper packets. I score the paper one one side at 3", 6" & 9". I rotate the paper 90 degrees and score at 2", 6" & 10". Now I cut on the 6" score line up to the 9" score line, leaving 3 inches un-cut.

Diagram with cuts and score lines.

Now for the folding....along the cut I fold, then on the 2" score lines on each side, I fold those up to create a pocket. Next I use Scor Tape again to secure these pockets and also on the inside part of the folded section. Now fold each section towards the center and you have your Mini Album. Attache a 1-1/2" strip of complementary B&T paper, to the end to create a binding, attaching an 18" piece of Baker's Twine under it to create a closure. Now decorate as desired with additional papers, bling and decorative elements.

Here is a quick tutorial on how to score, cut and assemble the Mini Pocket Album.

Well thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment, I truly appreciate ready your comments.
